New commitment.... Weekly Postings..

It's been forever and for each draft i've began not finished I'm choosing to just start fresh and not worry about the past postings. We're moving forward and going to do our best for weekly postings of the family and the new baby girl! Hooray.

So here's to best intentions and getting it done.. :)

So where to begin.. how about with the birth, we are now three weeks forward from that eventful day. We went in Tuesday night the 23rd of March to be induced, being already a week and a half overdue. We had a fairly easy night... once everyone made it there. Mom was coming down from BC, John went to pick her up in Bellingham and then take the ferry back to our house pick me up and we were due at the hospital at 9. Well on the way up to Bellingham the car's water pump and fan well were ready to fall off, luckily one of our neighbors was also on the ferry and offered to take John up to Bellingham to pick up Mom, her charter bus was late which unfortunely made them late returning back to get the car and catch the right ferry to make it home to me to leave in time for the hospital.  Not to worry Aunt Jean had also came up from Oregon to spend some extra time with Mom and us, she was awesome and truly excited to take me to the hospital instead and then John and Mom met us there after switching out vechiles.

Once I was there and the induction began it really was an easy night, with the hopes that we would be delivering in the morning, that is other than John having to sleep on the pull-out couch instead of our comfy bed, but of course his girls were worth the sacrafice.

Mom and Jean headed back to the house and we just waited... and waited....and waited. Of course the anticipation of our new addition made the waiting seem much longer too. Progress was being made and I was focusing, relaxing and doing well. The hot water of the jetted tub was great, but that was when our little girl started showing signs of distress as the contractions were getting stronger. At 21 hours of natual labor with lots of strong hard contractions I was exausted and went for the epidural.. I was thankful for a bit of releif, especially knowing I would have to push later and I was only dialated to a four. Well our little girl had other plans, two more hours of labor and contractions she was in more distress and not doing well. We kept losing her heartbeat off the monitor during the contractions and after the girl scared us a bit we made the decision with my Doc to do an emergency C-section.

It all turned out well in the end and we have a beautiful baby girl! John was right there with me, such a great support. The doctors and nurse's were also fantastic, even though it wasn't quite what we had planned it was a good experience. My recovery was really rough, and after a scare of my body not stopping the bleeding it finally was under control and we held our little lady for the first time... so precious.

Three days in the hospital and then we headed home, we had quite a few visitors and well wishers, which was nice. I was ready to be home and relax.

I'll begin with that and update a little more later.. to catch up just for now.
