6 months!!!!

Amazing.. John and I were sharing our past year tonight. All of the moments the ups, downs and in between. Lots of new beginnings, changes and welcome blessings.... Miss G is 6 months today and WOW to think as I write this I was in the OR for an emergency C section, worried, excited and exhausted. Those few days were full of anticipation and little did we know how much our world would change forever and what a blessing it was! I couldn't imagine not seeing that smile everyday. Playing, giving kisses to make her laugh and giggle.
We'll be seeing her pediatrician next week for the 6 month well baby check-up, but she is a healthy 19 pounds and 27 inches. She loves to taste the toes, marvels at her hands checking out each finger movements. Giggles when we play looking into the mirror, walks backwards in her Jeep walker, she is great and very solid standing up. She squeals in delight when she sees Bear (the dog) and loves to try and grab fistfuls of hair.. of course to put right in the mouth too, if I let her. She is so much fun to watch when she sees something new or we go discovering the outdoors. Best of all she is sitting up unassisted! Hooray you could say we are very proud. She began to do this on Monday and with each day's practice gets better and better.

Miss G and I went down to Oregon quickly on Wednesday and stayed with Gma and Gpa L for the night it was great to see them and play. Of course we showed off our new skills of sitting up too. She had the best time just looking at Gpa and she would break out into laughter and giggles. It was so funny to watch. Gma got her a new fall outfit and of course it's adorable ( purple with stripes). Again she did great in the truck with traveling slept when she was tired, played, watched the scenery go by out the window and let me know when she needed a bit of boobie.. :)

We have started to introduce Miss G to some foods now. She has been very interested in watching us eat and has enjoyed when we let her try to drink out of our glasses. Texture has been our biggest challenge so far. She is so so with the cereals will eat them but not much interest, but we did find that she enjoys sweet potatoes, so far that is it. I tried Peaches and Pears too but we got the yukky sour face instead. We'll try again later. So really we are still breastfeeding and I hope to continue for at least another 6 months, but I've been so lucky she has slept thru the night since the beginning, but now were starting to wake up a bit during the middle of the night hungry. It's been so much fun for us on this new adventure of parenthood and 6 months in were doing great, enjoying our bundle of joy and beginning to talk about the next one. :) Enjoy the photos..
Playing with G-Gma is one of my favorite things. :) and jumping in my fun jump up.
First cart ride not in the car seat! Hooray.
