Our first tirp to the ER..

It happened so fast and thank goodness we,re on the other side now. Saturday started as any normal day would and then the great crash. We have had our first major accident lots of blood, frantic mother, screaming and hurt baby, but calm daddy and an ER trip later to make sure everything was alright we made it back home for some needed rest.

Miss G tumbled chin first on the hardwood floor in the kitchen, cutting the top of her mouth biting her tongue and lip, which made for all the blood and of course a frantic mother. I knew the crying was a good sign, she was alive and kicking. A calm dad, thank goodness, because then I was falling apart, (really doesn't help being pregnant, this extra emotion and crying at a drop of a hat is going to drive me nuts..but back to the story)..... A fast, but safe drive to the ER, she calmed down the bleeding stopped and a great staff helped us at Harrison, we found out it was definitely harder on the parents than the child. Thank you God for strong babies and a few blessings. She was very swollen and sadly couldn't eat or drink for a good day and half.

In all of this I made the hard decision to stop breastfeeding. Now this has been harder on me for sure. Since Miss G couldn't nurse anyway with our face trauma and swelling it was a hard but easier transition. She wasn't into anything at first but thank goodness for Vanilla Pedisure, it's worked to help with our transition. Now were weaning her from that to formula too. I'm sure it's hard when you get that great mother's milk and then nothing. She is doing great now and recovered well. Were back to lots of smiles, laughter, and playing all day as usual.

Being pregnant again I knew we would need to wean sometime and I'm feeling much more energy since we have which is nice. I'm loving not having to recover from random nibbles from the nursing for sure. Now baby and I can keep all those good nutrients to ourselves for a while. This pregnancy has been much different from the last. I'm feeling hungry all the time, but no morning sickness, hooray! Were doing well and on track for a due date in mid September. I'll keep updates coming as we go along.
