Fun with friends....

John took me out for dinner while i was up there, which he's great at doing. It's a little restaurant, The Ajax Cafe, "a little out of the way but way out of the ordinary", down on the water in Port Hadlock. It was fantastic! A fun theme of the cafe is to wear hats if you like, they have many on the walls to choose from. As you can see we were enjoying our selections. The food was fantastic too, they had this fig and panchetta ravioli which danced on your tongue. I had my favorite tenderloin, John with the cedar planked spring Chinook salmon. It was a great meal and I was able to meet Danno and Paul, some of John's friends I've only heard about, I included a photo of the three of them too.

Up to Washington for a few wedding details

Hello once again. I'm heading up to see that sexy man of mine for a bit of John and Kari time. Also while I'm there the ladies(bridesmaids, matron of honor) will be doing a bit of planning too. It's all coming together and were looking forward to each day we get closer to the day and I'm excited for that first day after and then the next and each new morning too. :)

We just finalized the wedding party and I'll update the website soon. I added a link to it for easy access and will be sending out Save the Date cards soon.

Loves.. and until the next posting.. Kari

Save the date.......

Hello and welcome I'll be setting up a website for all the information and details as we make all those decisions. For the current details:

Save the date of October 3rd, 2009, sometime in the afternoon. The fun event will take place in Woodburn at my grandparent’s estate, so directions to follow. I haven't contacted any of the hotels yet for the out of town travelers, but it's in the list of details. If you need any more information please contact me or I'll keep updating as we go along and the invites should be in your mailbox mid August sometime.

Looking forward to seeing everyone. Loves.. K

It is official!

Well after a year and half now. He asked, I said yes and the wedding is planned! We are both really happy and looking forward to not only the day we begin to officially share our lives together, but also to celebrate and enjoy with family and close friends. More details will be coming soon. Right now the date is Saturday, October 3rd in Oregon at my Grandparents estate.

It's been a great Easter weekend, we were at my parents here on the Oregon Coast and mostly the weather cooperated. It was just the leaving for church and then the attempting to get back down the ramp which was the challenge. The rain and wind helped to make it nice and wet. :) The grandparent's were here and some local friends too, great food, fun and a rematch of marbles which again John and Gma had the upper hand.. well until next time Gpa and I can try to even the score... we all had a fantastic time, but of course it's always tooo short!

Firewood it must be love..

After three weeks of us both having busy schedules we've carved sometime out to spend together this week. Thanks for the help to Mom at the store so I could head to PT. Of course the weather has been fantastic and beautiful, sooo much to do and really of course all you might think is a few romantic moments, sure well today it was with firewood. I started pruning rose bushes, more clearing out all the weeds and grasses trying to take over. They now look great and are ready for the new blooms.

John picked up our "new" hens and rooster.. Hooray for fresh farm eggs. They are sooo good. Being in the location we are and right next to the "Egg and I" we just had to have chickens, it's just tradition right. (If you don't know the Egg and I, it was a popular book back in the forty's based on the homestead chicken farm which would have been next door to John's property, really it was a good book and they made a funny movie based on the book too, actually that is where Ma and Pa Kettle started from too.. and yes they are just down the road.. LOL)

Back to the firewood, John had an order for a few cords, and it must be love when we can work well together getting dirty. It really was fun. Lots of work, sawdust, lifting, stacking, tossing and splitting, but fun. My muscles are a bit sore and I know I'll sleep well tonight from an honest hard days work. After a days work I made a great meal of fish and chips, of course fresh from our store, and angel food cake with strawberries and cream. I am so ready for summer, soon .. :)
