My quick trip to Washington was great, but then isn't it when you can see the one you love. :) I was able to plant the new roses we ordered this winter to place by the logging grapples, John had put up by the lower driveway. Two are climbing roses and one is a bush style. I can't wait to see how they do, they will be fantastic in a year or so and crawl right up the grapples. I forgot to get pictures but I'll keep updating. I also took sometime to prune back the other roses, which he already has, they needed a little bit of a woman's touch. I'll be using that touch in a few more places before were done too.
The chickens are laying great and I can't wait to be there to enjoy the eggs more often. The rooster is a bit of an aggressive character, but John has him under control a few knocks and he lets him in the hen house to collect the eggs. The weather was fantastic, lots of sunshine and oh the promise of summer is coming I'm sooo looking forward to more summer days.
I went to the local famous little burger joint, Bloomers to get us some lunch because we had been out working in the yard and cutting more firewood that morning, well I left with John's favorite burger, the onion rings and two screws in the back tire! I heard it on the way home, which was close, dropped off the food and was on my way into town to have the boys at Les Schwab take a look. Luckily it was a small repair in the tread and the guys were great. It helps to be in a small town and know a few people, my best friend's brother was working and hooked me up, thanks Aaron!
Alright enough of the boring details we're having fun and loving every minute. Here are a few photos from our day.. John took me for a ride in his big Mack dump truck he's been working in, romantic jestures are great anytime I get them. :)
