Shrimp Festival and family fun.

Great day today! It began a little rough, but ended with lots of fun. We (John and I) got to sleep in until 7:30am, Hooray our little one let us sleep a good nine hours. I nursed her and then we started with a bath, not too bad, until we were ready to get out of the bath and she decided the water needed a little poo too. Really looking back now it was funny, mainly because she isn't to
the stage where there is much to worry about, that is yet. So I cleaned the little tub and started over for the second bath, success this time. Until I put her on the changing table for a new diaper and clothes, then she decided the towel was her diaper.. again a little cleaning and were good. So we start with a cute outfit of course and just as I pick her up to go sit down a nice burp, and then a bit of projectile spit-up all over her arm, hand and of course down the front of her and down the back of me, the shoulder, the arm and yummy a little in the hair. We had a little talk, that is I did the talking and she couldn't help but to smile. Once we finally got it all together and were almost ready John got back and had coffee for me... What a great husband. :)
She was quite the character this morning on the way down the canal to the festival, making noises, and coos, she had John and I laughing the whole way down. We had a great time at the festival with the family, even Bear (the dog) came with us. Lots of local vendors, we got our beloved Spot Prawns, the whole point of the festival of course. Then sampled the festival foods too. Fried Oysters, Steamed Clams, Shrimp, Garlic Fries and Elephant Ears and that was just a sampling.
We of course couldn't miss one of the top events for the festival was the BELT SANDER races. It is out in the middle of the boonies. They were great! actually many of the racers came from around Seattle for the fun. We also saw the Elk on the beach shore when we were leaving, they are beautiful for sure.

Tomorrow were heading to the family BBQ and meeting our new niece Eva, which will be fun. Enjoy the photos and we hope you had a fun holiday and took a moment to remember our fallen military soldiers.

Two month check up w/doc

Today we went and saw our pediatrician for Grace's two-month check up and the dreaded shots. I only wanted her to get two immunizations at a time, I just think more than that is too hard on her and really me too. She was 12 pds and 23 inches tall which puts her in the top of the percentile for her age... Hooray she's doing great.

This little girl of ours is showing a bit how much she is like her momma, hard to wake up and watch out if you wake her when she's not ready! LOL, I'm getting all that karma right back at me and taking it with a spoon of sugar of course. She's got lots of her Dad too, but as like he would take credit for it's all the good stuff.. :)

I really can't believe it's been two months already, it really does seam like just a two or three weeks ago I heading to the hospital and praying John and Mom would make it, then oh, all 20 some hours of contractions! Thank goodness for the epidural, now that I know I should have given in right from the beginning but that idea of "my body knows what to do" and "I'll try it the all natural way" well I was stubborn lets just say.

I've been trying to fill out her baby book keeping up with the weekly info and I'll get the birth announcements sent soon too, this weekend were taking our first family outing and meeting our new cousin too. It will be busy even though were home.

Two months old!!!!

We are already here! Amazing really and she keeps getting cuter everyday, but then I might have a bias too... :) She is 13.6 pds, growing well and loving to nurse and beginning to play. She had a bit of an eye infection this week and a little breastmilk in the eye has cleared it! Amazing stuff... Other than the eye we're well. I take her with me in the stroller walking and so far she seams to like it, not a huge fan of direct sunlight yet, but that's alright too with such fair skin like her momma I should be buying stock in sunscreen for the summer. We are having so much fun with our little gift from God.. she amazes us everyday and is a great addition to the family. :)

Raised Garden Beds...

Hooray they are built and almost ready for planting.. John was busy over the weekend and put together the raised beds for our "garden" he made me three awesome boxes and I was able to help stain them a little, but our little girly kept me close to her. I can't wait for the rewards to enjoy. The tasty vegetable's and all the yummy tomatoes.

My friend Rachel stopped by on Sunday with her kids Ella and Owen. It was a quick visit but great to see them still we even had a few minutes on the deck with the sunshine and no winds.. Hooray for little moments.

Anyway here are a few pictures from the weekend.

The almost finished product.. now just for the top soil and screening to keep out the birds (for now).

Busy week..

Well it was quite the busy week for us here. Monday Grace and I embarked on our first long road trip. We went to Gma & Gpa Lenhardt's for the night and Gma watched Grace Tuesday when I had to run to the beach and back. Grace also got to meet Gma K for the first time and she also saw Uncle Jim too, sadly we couldn't stay long and will be coming back in June for more time. Tuesday eve we came home to see Gpa Steve and Daddy of course. Grace did really well on the drive actually sleeping most of the time or being really good and just watching the passing scenery. She also slept 10 hours on Monday night and Tuesday night.. amazing. I was of course waking up to check to make sure she was alright... LOL.. so much for getting to catch up on sleep.

Gpa Steve had to be here for a meeting on Tuesday too, a really quick trip for him too here and then gone back to Canada asap. Wednesday we caught up and just rested at home trying to get back on schedule.
John was busy Monday too he had to work the night shift to complete road work for the new store they are building. So Tuesday he got to stay home and then back to days on Wednesday.
So really by the end of the week it did slow down, Grace and I have enjoyed staying home and just being momma and baby.. :)

She is doing really well putting on the weight like she should, beginning to coo and a few little giggles are coming too. She loves to sit in her bouncy seat and we play faces and giggles. She also likes to lay on her playmat or swing and listen to the music as we play.

This weekend John is building the raised beds for our garden this year. Can't wait soo excited to get everything in and going. We did already pick up some flowers and tomatoes from Gma and Gpa Lenhardt to get started with, I can already taste my pear tomatoes and yummy salads for this summer. :)

Here's a few pictures from this week for you too.

Rhody weekend-Kiddy Parade..

What a beautiful day! We made our first real outing in the stroller today up to the Rhody festival Kids parade. Uncle Ted came with us and we also met up with more friends. We got to see cousin Skyanna walking with her cheerleader troop, Uncle Mike and Madison were walking in the parade also cousins Elias and Devin. We also saw quite a few friends too, everyone was there. The sun was shinning and Grace wasn't too keen on the brightness, but we found some shade to hid behind. It was a great day and here's a few photos..

Tommorow were getting ready for John's B-day and a small bbq with friends.

First Mothers Day

I'm feeling so lucky to celebrate my first Mother's Day today! Grandpa and Grandma Lenhardt came to visit and spend time with us. John's been fishing the past few days and caught some fresh Lingcod we had for dinner.. it was sooo wonderful. Grace got me (with the help of daddy) my first Mother's Day gift which was a beautiful necklace..

I am so blessed.

Busy weekend and lots of driving..

This past weekend we were busy! Saturday found us leaving the house early to make a delivery of a few light poles to Shelton. Then also visited with a co-worker of John's for the afternoon since we were down the canal so far. We had a great time and they hadn't meet Grace yet, which of course she was her charming self as always :)... We were also lucky to take home a dozen fresh chicken eggs from their flock.

Grace slept most of the way which was nice. She loves the rumble and purr of that diesel engine. Those moments she wasn't sleeping she let us know for sure... that is me, the 24 hr milk buffet is always open upon her demand. The older she is getting it's been fun to watch her discover new things each day. She likes to sit with me for a bit in the afternoons and we talk to each other, her trying to coo and laugh and me just being silly.

Sunday we went to Anacortes to help celebrate Ella's first birthday. Again Grace did really well and did well with the timing, we were able to nurse on the ferry ride and then of course take that nap while we drove. We visited with some of my great friends from college, had a little cake and ice cream, then had to head home. We were able to catch the Kingston/Port Townsend ferry home it was a little windy which made the ride quite the adventure. It was great to see friends this weekend, but even better to be home and relax...
